Lucas Braga comentou sobre esses próximos confrontos do time.

Reporter says Rangers star plotting exit, believes he can play higher level

da bwin: One Rangers star is reportedly plotting a summer move away from the club, it has been reported, with the belief that he can play at a higher level than the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers on course for Scottish title

da betsson: Though it has by no means been a vintage season for Philippe Clement and his side, they remain on course to win the Scottish Premiership provided they avoid any major slip ups. As it stands, they hold the slight advantage over major rivals Celtic, and they play host to the Bhoys next month at Ibrox.

Wow: Rangers now planning exciting summer transfer alongside Silva

The club’s owners could be eyeing a bold transfer window.

ByHenry Jackson Mar 15, 2024

Should they prove victorious in that clash, they would be well on course for just their second Scottish Premiership title since 2012.

However, it's not all good news for the Gers, as a Rafa Silva strike ensured that they were dumped out of Europe at the last 16 stage of the Europa League on Thursday. Having held Benfica to a 2-2 draw in Lisbon, they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to ensure that their European journey came to an end for another season.

Worse still, there could be unrest among the camp, with one man reportedly keen on a departure.

Rangers star eyeing higher level

The player in question is none other than shot-stopper Jack Butland. The ex-Crystal Palace man has been born anew at Ibrox after several seasons of inconsistent gametime. Trusted by Clement, he has appeared 29 times for Rangers in the league, keeping 17 clean sheets in the process and ensuring that his side boast the meanest defence in the division.

As per Football Insider's transfer correspondent Pete O'Rourke, the goalkeeper is 'plotting' an exit to the Premier League this summer, despite being 'delighted' with his decision to move to Rangers. This is because, at just 31-years-old, he 'feels that he is still at an age where he can impress in the Premier League' and is 'eager to prove himself again in England'.

It had been rumoured that Butland was to be included in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Brazil and Scotland, but the Three Lions boss ultimately opted for Sam Johnstone over the in-form Rangers man.

This could be another factor in his desire to return to the English top flight, with Football Insider adding that 'he feels that a move back to the Premier League could help his chances of a Three Lions call-up'. TNT Sports Pundit Ally McCoist blasted the decision ahead of Rangers' Europa League defeat, admitting he was 'amazed' Southgate had overlooked Butland.

"I'm not in a position to tell Gareth his job, but I’m about to now," he said. "I’m absolutely amazed that he is not in the England squad.

Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland.

"Jack Butland has been playing on a regular basis up here. And in my opinion, has been playing extremely well. I’ve got to say, I'm very, very surprised, and disappointed for Jack that he's not in the squad coming up for the two games."

It would come as a major blow to Rangers were they to lose their undisputed no.1, especially after such an impressive campaign. However, they would stand to gain significantly, with any move likely to come with a decently-sized transfer fee.

Having signed him on a free transfer 12 months ago, it would represent some healthy profit despite being a loss on the pitch.

Kyle Jamieson's debut show gives New Zealand series despite Jadeja-Saini scare

The hosts had control of the game, then they lost it, then they got it back, then they lost it… and so it went until the final overs

The Report by Alagappan Muthu08-Feb-20203:57

Five reasons why New Zealand won the Auckland ODI

Navdeep Saini! All the hype around him was that he could bowl fast.Only here he was staring down a bouncer with a glint in his eye and dispatching it over point for six. Not long after that, he hit boss mode, getting down on one knee and scooping the seam bowlers for four.Chasing 274, India were down and out at 153 for 7 in the 32nd over. And then their No. 9 had an identity crisis. Dude batted like he was ruddy Kevin Pietersen, making four times the runs his List A average of 12 suggests. It’s as if Eden Park just wouldn’t allow for a dead ODI to take place within its bordersKyle Jamieson roars after getting a wicket in his first over on debut•Getty Images

There were so many instances of players rising above the ruin to keep this game alive. Ross Taylor’s freakish, unbeaten 73 followed on from a collapse of 7 for 55. Ravindra Jadeja batted like he had been to the future and seen that he would score a half-century himself. Nothing he did, or said, gave even the slightest hint that he ever thought a match-winning hand was beyond him. This after a 10-over spell where he gave away only three boundaries.New Zealand fined for slow over-rate

After India had earned over-rate fines for three matches in a row – the last two T20Is and the first ODI – it was New Zealand who were docked for bowling their overs too slowly in the second ODI. New Zealand were fined 60% of their match fee, with match referee Chris Broad ruling that Tom Latham’s side were three overs short of the required target with time allowances being considered.
Latham didn’t contest the charge so there was no need of a formal hearing. Players are fined 20% of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

New Zealand’s ninth-wicket partnership scared up 76 runs in 51 balls. India’s eighth wicket-partnership – at the height of an impossible chase – made 76 off 86.Sheesh! Eden Park just cannot deal with even the idea of a boring cricket match. This one ended with New Zealand winning by the skin of their teeth and taking the series 2-0.The tension was unbelievable. And rather more apparent on the hosts, who may well have felt those twitches that a Super Over brings. They needed three wickets when India needed 121 off 113 balls. Plenty of time. Just stick to the plan.Jadeja kept pinching singles. Saini twisted his body into every which way to protect his stumps. The equation reduced to 85 off 60. By now, New Zealand had run out of fit players – Mitchell Santner and Scott Kuggeleijn were unwell and many of their first-choice picks including Kane Williamson, who was at the ground, and Trent Boult were still recovering from injury. So their assistant coach Luke Ronchi was yanked out of the dressing room and stuck on the field.Ravindra Jadeja kept Indian hopes alive for a while•Getty Images

Meanwhile, Jadeja was doing the MS Dhoni thing, biding his time and mining twos from within the 30-yard circle. He didn’t seem to mind that the required rate was at 9.7 and the reason for that became immediately apparent when Saini tonked Colin de Grandhomme for three fours in the 44th over, and then sheepishly giggling when his partner would come up to punch gloves. But, just as it looked like the most improbable finish was on the cards – Saini scoring a fifty and simultaneously unlocking the secret to human flight – a rookie player comes up and knocks his stumps to the ground. Eden Park, man. It really can’t help flipping a script. That Kyle Jamieson strike paved the way to victory, and cemented his candidacy for Man of the Match award. Though honestly, his dismissal of Prithvi Shaw should have sealed it, an incoming delivery storming emphatically through the batsman’s defences to wreck his stumps.Tim Southee must have been pleased in the end. He was not at all well on Saturday. He was a doubt even to play but then it became apparent that New Zealand wouldn’t even have an XI to put on the park if he took the day off. So he put on his black cap and put in a truly big-hearted performance. He wasn’t on the pitch when it all ended, raising the possibility that he bowled out (2-41) well before he otherwise would have simply to go to the dressing room and rest. But, as he was leaving every single one of his team-mates raced up to him, from the captain Tom Latham to one of their best ever Taylor and even the debutant Jamieson, and patted his back.Southee is no longer the wicket-taking machine he once was, often swinging the ball in ways that made people question basic physics. But he stands up in adversity. He leads when no one wants to. He did that in Australia when New Zealand were robbed of Boult and Lockie Ferguson. He did it again in Auckland, clean bowling Virat Kohli at the start of the chase to provide his team the foothold they needed to win the game.It was beautiful to watch New Zealand execute their plan for the Indian captain. They had three slips to start and continued with at least two catchers through the first 20 balls he faced. Most experts would attest that is the period when every batter is at their most vulnerable. Also, they bowled one side of the wicket, the off side namely, and blocked out his cover drive. Kohli had made only nine runs in this time and was eventually forced to try and drag balls into the leg side if he wanted his score to move. This was where Southee wanted Kohli to be. He rolled out the cross-seamer. It cut in off the pitch. The batsman played around it and was bowled. However well India fought after that – and they did, with Shreyas Iyer scoring a fifty as well, that wicket, much as it did in the World Cup semi-final, was crucial.Ross Taylor is an expert at hitting the ball in the leg side•AFP

It meant New Zealand don’t have to look back so wistfully at their own batting collapse. Losing 7 for 55 had ripped away much of the tension from a game that was building up beautifully. Ha! As if such a thing could ever happen in Auckland.Taylor killed all possibility of a dull game by playing an absolute blinder. His ninth-wicket partnership with Jamieson – who scored a century while facing James Anderson and Stuart Broad in a tour game in 2018 – was entirely ridiculous. It came after New Zealand had lurched from 142 for 1 to 197 for 8 thanks to the pressure India exerted through the middle overs. To think that was the period where they won the game in Hamilton. Taylor and Tom Latham ransacked 117 runs in overs 30-40 without even looking like losing a wicket a few days ago. Here, New Zealand stopped and stumbled and crashed and burned to 32 for 4 in that phase.Taylor was 29 off 47 when the eighth wicket fell and his side didn’t look like it would last the remaining nine overs. He had already been part of two run-outs that stole all the momentum away from the innings, especially the one that cost Martin Guptill his wicket when he looked well set on 79. A straightforward chase was on the cards and Eden Park was all set to be marred by that most awful of things – a boring cricket match. But then that magic that surrounds this ground, which is home to the Grant Elliot miracle, the Marcus Stoinis heartbreak and the Kane Williamson fist pump, began to show itself.Taylor was completely infused with it. Sure, 14 years in the international arena does help a guy overcome such a hopeless situation but where’s the fun in that narrative? It’s much more compelling to imagine an otherworldly force enabling Taylor to the best fast bowler in the world nearly all the way for six, with the back of his bat. Jasprit Bumrah does not get treated like this. By anyone. Heck, even the new kid Jamieson was whacking fours off him at the death.Eden Park just cannot deal with even the idea of a boring cricket match.

Lukaku 2.0 included: 3 strikers West Brom could sign to replace Armstrong

da bet nacional: The wheels came off West Bromwich Albion’s 2024/25 campaign alarmingly quickly.

da poker: It all started when Carlos Corberan left the building at the end of December, leaving the Baggies with the extremely tough task of replacing the Spaniard mid-way through what they hoped would be a promotion-winning season in the Championship.

Unfortunately, Tony Mowbray came in and depressingly faltered instead, with the 61-year-old subsequently relieved of his duties as his side fell out of the playoff picture.

It can’t all be blamed on the seasoned EFL manager, however.

The likes of Adam Armstrong also struggled in a league he usually shines in, as seen in the Southampton loanee only firing home a limp three strikes from 16 games after a late January swoop.

Therefore, this might make the Baggies think twice about going after Armstrong permanently now his loan deal has expired, with these three strikers perhaps on the West Brom shopping list instead to try and bolster their firepower.

1 Marc Guiu

Chelsea's Marc Guiu celebrates

West Brom could boldly go down the route of exploring the loan market once more with Chelsea hotshot Marc Guiu, irrespective of Armstrong’s poor stint at the Hawthorns.

After all, the Baggies have succeeded in the past when gifting an up-and-coming starlet chances away from Stamford Bridge, with Romelu Lukaku once just a wide-eyed attacker like Guiu before exploding into life in the West Midlands.

Guiu would hope to follow in the deadly Belgian’s footsteps if he is picked up by the promotion-aspiring Baggies this summer, having previously reportedly been on their radar around the time of Armstrong’s move.

The promising 19-year-old managed to bag six goals for Enzo Maresca’s men last season despite limited first-team action, meaning more game-time to come down a division could get even more out of the raw Spaniard.

2 Willem Geubbels

West Brom could be up against it in attempting to land the services of St. Gallen star Willem Geubbels, considering he is being linked with a £4.6m move to Premier League-bound Leeds United.

But, never say never over the Swiss attacker wanting more game-time by relocating to the Hawthorns instead, having been a long-term target on the Baggies’ agenda.

His goalscoring expertise in the Swiss Super League has even resulted in football talent scout Jacek Kulig heralding Geubbels as an “absolute top talent” and for many a valid reason too, considering the 23-year-old has hammered home an impressive 17 strikes this season from 41 overall clashes.

Therefore, the in-demand Frenchman could push a returning Josh Maja for a starting spot next campaign if he were to move to England, away from also allowing West Brom to immediately forget about Armstrong’s frustrating spell.

3 Ali Al-Hamadi

Ali Al-Hamadi

Lastly, away from thinking outside the box by shopping in Europe or snapping up a rising top-flight star, West Brom could go after a centre-forward talent full to the brim with EFL experience in Ali Al-Hamadi.

The Iraq international didn’t set the world alight out on loan with Stoke City this season just gone when registering only two weak goals from 15 games, but he has proven in the past for parent side Ipswich Town in the Championship that he’s a reliable option to call upon when the deadlock needs to be broken.

Staggeringly, despite only starting one league game for Kieran McKenna’s men during their promotion-winning campaign, the former AFC Wimbledon man would still fire home a blistering four strikes, leaving him with a devastatingly effective scoring frequency of every 72 minutes.

It would all just depend on whether the Tractor Boys would want to keep the dangerous 23-year-old around now they’ve slumped back down to the EFL, but if he is available again, West Brom could seriously boost their promotion efforts by landing their failed January target.

Mayank Agarwal 'clinically stable' after mid-flight 'medical emergency'

He had complained of stomach pain and burning sensation in his throat and mouth after consuming liquid from a bottle that he believed contained drinking water

Mayank Agarwal has scored two centuries and a fifty for Karnataka so far in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season•PTI

Mayank Agarwal, the Karnataka captain, was admitted to a private hospital in Agartala on Tuesday after he complained of stomach pain and burning sensation in his throat and mouth after consuming liquid from a bottle that he believed contained drinking water, while onboard an IndiGo flight. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when Agarwal was travelling from Agartala to Surat via New Delhi for Karnataka’s fifth-round Ranji Trophy fixture against Railways starting on Friday. Agarwal was deplaned and rushed to hospital after a bout of vomiting inside the aircraft, even as the rest of the Karnataka squad continued their onward travel.ILS Hospitals, where Agarwal was admitted to, later confirmed that he is “clinically stable” and being “clinically monitored”. They said that Agarwal was experiencing some “oral irritation” and “swelling on the lips”. He will be under observation for 24 hours. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) is in touch with officials from the Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) and the doctors attending to Agarwal. The Karnataka team manager, on Agarwal’s behalf, has also requested the Tripura police to investigate the incident. A written complaint has been signed and issued to K Kiran Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Tripura West) and a case has been registered under the jurisdiction of the New Capital Complex Police Station in Agartala.”While sitting on a flight, he saw a pouch in front of him and thinking of it as water, drank it,” Kiran told PTI. “He had swelling and ulcers in his mouth. His condition is normal, and his vitals are stable. His manager has made a complaint. We are registering the complaint and will investigate the matter.”Agarwal is set to undergo a few tests following which a decision will be made if he can return home to Bengaluru over the next couple of days for further examination. This all but rules him out of Karnataka’s upcoming Ranji fixture. In a press statement, IndiGo confirmed that the flight had to return to Agartala due to a medical emergency: “IndiGo flight 6E 5177 operating from Agartala to Delhi returned to origin due to a medical emergency onboard. The passenger was offloaded and was rushed to the hospital for further medical assistance. The aircraft took off again for its destination at 1620h.”Agarwal has so far struck two hundreds and a half-century in the ongoing season. Karnataka are currently placed second in Group C with two wins, a draw and a defeat in four matches. Nikin Jose, the 23-year-old batter, is the designated vice-captain in the squad and is likely to take over the captaincy.

Thierry Henry teammate reveals the 3 Henry traits Isak can bring to Arsenal

da brwin: Amid increasing rumours linking Alexander Isak with a move to Arsenal this summer, a former Invincible has revealed the similarities between the Swede and former teammate Thierry Henry.

Arsenal Invincible compares Isak and Henry

da dobrowin: The rumours surrounding Isak should come as no surprise. The forward has been the star of the show at Newcastle United in recent seasons and perhaps no more so than in the current campaign, scoring the Magpies’ second goal on their way to defeating Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

That form has only continued at international level too, as he scored a stunning goal for Sweden in a thrashing of Northern Ireland this week.

If Newcastle’s reported price tag is anything to go by, then they’re well aware of the battle that they’ll have on their hands this summer. The Magpies have reportedly slapped a valuation as high as £120m to sell Isak this summer in the hope of fending off the likes of Arsenal.

Only adding fuel to the transfer flames, however, Arsenal Invincible Philippe Senderos has revealed the three traits that the talented striker shares with former teammate and Gunners legend Henry.

“He definitely has the attributes to be able to do that but to reach the heights of the likes of Thierry Henry, you need to be special in terms of your mental approach to the game and this is developed over years, but you have it when you start. To be compared to Thierry is a big big honour because Thierry was and is a special type of person.

“Speed, for sure, dribbling attributes and direct to the goal, links up well. He’s (Isak), not only a goalscorer, he also makes his teammates play and do better. Yes, he does, but again I go back to Thierry and the amount of years that he’s been doing it and how special he is and was as a player, he still has a long way I would say.”

Isak must be top of Arsenal's wishlist

On course to lose out on the Premier League title for a third season in a row, Arsenal must send a statement this summer – Mikel Arteta must welcome a big name and a striker capable of winning the Golden Boot.

His side have enjoyed an impressive rise since his arrival six seasons ago, but the Spaniard must now take the Gunners to that next level. And Isak would play a large part in that alongside rising stars Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly, who are expected to play larger roles next year to strengthen the squad even further.

Whilst Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have scored a combined 22 goals, Isak alone has found the back of the net 23 times in all competitions for the Magpies. His price tag may be hefty, but there is no doubt that the Newcastle star would be worth every penny.

A player who has similar traits to Henry, as revealed by Senderos, Isak looks destined to steal the headlines this summer.
