Brighton now on the verge of signing "excellent" £7m gem along with Tzimas

da realsbet: After confirming the arrival of Stefanos Tzimas, Brighton & Hove Albion have now reportedly agreed a deal to sign their first summer arrival a matter of days following January’s transfer deadline.

Brighton transfer news

da betsul: Whilst’s it wasn’t a hectic window for Brighton, they saved their best move till last to welcome Tzimas on a permanent deal before loaning the forward back to Nuremberg for the rest of the season. With Evan Ferguson heading out on loan to West Ham United at the same time, the Seagulls’ transfer business will certainly be interesting to watch when both young forward re-enter The Amex in pre-season.

Welcoming his new striker with open arms, Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler told the club website: “Stefanos is an exceptional young talent, an out-and-out centre-forward with a natural ability to score goals, and we are absolutely delighted to have signed him.

“He will join up with us in the summer, ahead of next season, but we are really looking forward to working with him, and feel he has a very exciting future ahead.”

Tzimas’ arrival may yet be a sign of things to come too. According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Brighton have now reached an agreement to sign Clement Bischoff in a deal worth €8m (£7m).

In what will reportedly be the Seagulls’ first summer transfer, the versatile midfielder will arrive and join up with Tzimas in the hope of turning Hurzeler’s side back into one vying for the European places.

Fabian Hurzeler for Brighton.

Following a dip in form since November – culminating in a 7-0 humiliation at the hands of Nottingham Forest – Brighton will be hoping to turn a corner under their young manager and then welcome two young additions when the summer arrives.

"Excellent" Bischoff is a rising star

Such is their reputation for signing the Premier League’s next stars, Brighton fans have every reason to be excited once again in the case of Bischoff. The Brondby teenager can play both as a left-midfielder and as a left-back in what should offer Hurzeler key versatility and has even earned the praise of Ben Mattinson this season.

The analyst described the midfielder’s two-way dribbling as “excellent” and his crossing ability as “well-weighted in an early-season review of his potential and what could come next.

Having had a hand in as many as 10 goals so far this season, with two goals and eight assists, it’s clear that Bischoff is a threat on the left-hand side whether that is in midfield or from within the backline.

A rising star and another youngster that Brighton have seemingly identified, Bischoff should be one to watch when the summer arrives.

Why Arsenal could try to sign Harry Kane "this summer" in surprise move

A surprise report has shared why Arsenal could try to sign Bayern Munich superstar and England legend Harry Kane “this summer”, in what would be a surprise move considering his connection to their cross-town rivals.

Arsenal identify striker targets for this summer after uneventful January

As is becoming the norm with Mikel Arteta’s side, the Gunners have already been linked with a host of high-profile strikers for the next transfer window later this year, after they decided not to bring in a new centre-forward mid-season.

The club confirmed this week that Kai Havertz will miss the rest of this Premier League season, after the German injured his hamstring during their warm-weather training camp trip to Dubai, while Gabriel Jesus has also played his last game of 2024/2025.

These injuries have decimated Arteta’s attacking options, with both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka also on the treatment table heading into Arsenal’s next game against Leicester City this weekend.

Havertz’s injury has drawn criticism aimed at Arsenal’s failed recruitment in January, and Arteta will be seriously looking to avoid a similar scenario next season ahead of another potential title challenge.

RB Leipzig starlet Benjamin Sesko is believed to be a top target for Arsenal this summer, after the Slovenian rejected a move to the Emirates last summer in favour of remaining in the Bundesliga for at least one more term (Fabrizio Romano).

Meanwhile, Arsenal have also been tipped by some critics to launch a shock swoop for Tottenham’s all-time top goalscorer, Kane.

The 31-year-old’s maintained his phenomenal goalscoring record in Germany this season, since he swapped north London for the Allianz Arena in 2023, with Kane scoring 73 goals in 74 appearances for Bayern across all competitions in total.

Why Arsenal could try to sign Harry Kane "this summer"

According to a report from Spain, Arsenal could try to sign Kane from Bayern “this summer”. It is explained that they view the £400,000-per-week frontman as Arteta’s “missing piece”, and someone who offers a superior finishing rate compared to crocked duo Jesus and Havertz.

That being said, while there may be some intent, it is very debatable whether Kane would green-light this move considering his obvious ties.

Harry Kane for Bayern Munich

This season, the striker boasts 29 goals and 10 assists from 29 appearances, with Arsenal icon Paul Merson even urging them to make a move for the Three Lions star recently.

“Arsenal will buy him,” said Merson on Sky. “Why not? £64m, why not. Sol Campbell did [make the move]. People will go ‘oh he’s this age and that age’ but Arsenal need now.

“If Arsenal haven’t won the League, you’ve got to take a chance. You’ve got to take a chance, buy someone that’s proven. I wouldn’t be surprised, and when you’re Harry Kane, and you’ve been told you can go for £64m, there’s only a couple of teams who could buy him.”

Tottenham in talks to sign £8.5m "goalscorer" who starred at Spurs stadium

Tottenham Hotspur have now opened talks to sign an £8.5m “goalscorer” who previously starred at Spurs’ stadium.

Tottenham and Ange eye new signing before deadline

Things haven’t been going to plan for Ange Postecoglou and his side on the pitch, with Spurs now in real threat of finding themselves in a relegation battle following the latest loss at home to Leicester City.

Tottenham Hotspur manager AngePostecoglou

Prior to that defeat, Postecoglou admitted that his injury-hit squad could do with bolstering before the deadline: “I have daily communication with Johan in particular and he’s trying everything he possibly can to get the help we need. I don’t think I’m stating anything other than the obvious and for me to come here and say something else would be disingenuous. This playing group needs help, there’s no doubt about that.

“We’re sort of playing with fire by not bringing anyone in, but the flip side of that is the club is trying to change that situation.”

So far, goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is the only winter window addition in north London, but there have been rumours of another attacker arriving.

Names including Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel and Lyon‘s Rayan Cherki have been mooted as attacking targets, and the club are now in talks for a Premier League forward.

Tottenham open Yoane Wissa talks

As per journalist Santi Aouna, Tottenham have opened discussions to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford, who is seen as a concrete target for Spurs before the deadline.

Within his report for Foot Mercato, Aouna states that Tottenham have approached Brentford over a deal and have also been in contact with Wissa and his representatives to express their interest.

Yoane Wissa scores late on for Brentford vs Crystal Palace.

Recently, Bees manager Thomas Frank said: “There’s a lot of rumours. For me, he’s a Brentford player, and in my opinion, Wissa is not for sale.”

Frank also hailed Wissa as a “goalscorer” back in 2023 after a 3-0 win over Fulham. “It’s about enjoying the wins that we get. Great goal by Wissa. It’s not as easy as it looked.

“I think they are super players. Wissa, we knew, has always been a goalscorer. He scored seven goals in the first season and seven in the second in the Premier League, for a player that didn’t play much. It’s remarkable. I definitely think he is best as a 9. He’s got that nose for goals.”

The 28-year-old, who cost just £8.5m back in 2021, has been in impressive form this season, averaging a goal every other game in all competitions.

He has already matched last season’s tally of 12 goals in all competitions in 12 fewer games, so appears to be at the peak of his powers in England and even starred at Tottenham’s stadium back in 2023, scoring and providing an assist in a 3-1 win for Brentford.

It remains to be seen how likely a late January deal is for Wissa, but by the looks of things, it will be one to keep an eye on ahead of the deadline.

The Crystal Palace deal that Parish will shift "heaven and earth" to seal

With the transfer window now over, Crystal Palace will reportedly turn their attention towards one particular deal that Steve Parish will move “heaven and earth” to complete.

Crystal Palace transfer news

Having opened the January transfer window by signing Romain Esse from Millwall, Crystal Palace ended it by welcoming the more experienced Ben Chilwell from London rivals Chelsea. Putting an end to the left-back’s Stamford Bridge misery, the Eagles will be hoping to benefit once again from the Blues’ discards just as they had begun to do so in the case of Trevoh Chalobah before he was recalled.

There will also be some relief around Selhurst Park that the transfer window has slammed shut after Tottenham Hotspur reportedly saw a late £70m bid to sign Marc Guehi turned down.

Out of time to sign a replacement, Palace managed to keep hold of Guehi but will be well aware that this saga is unlikely to be over ahead of the summer transfer window. Before that arrives, the Eagles will hope to ensure that both Guehi and Jean-Philippe Mateta stay put.

Their next Olise: Crystal Palace have found another "exciting" teen star

Crystal Palace may already have their next Olise in the pipeline with this “exciting” star

ByConnor Holden Feb 5, 2025

The forward is currently on course to leave the South London club in the summer of 2026 and is yet to put pen to paper in renewal talks. That could yet change, however.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, Steve Parish will now move “heaven and earth” to renew Mateta’s contract at Crystal Palace. Brown told Football Insider: Based on the way he’s played and the goals he’s scored, I think they’ll be prepared to shift heaven and earth to secure his services.

“So that’s something they’re going to have to sit down and talk about with him in the near future. Even if it takes a big pay-rise, I think he’s earned that with the way he’s played.

“Now that the transfer window has closed, it gives them a chance to focus their efforts on getting key players tied down to new contracts. And from what I hear and what I’ve seen, he’s happy at Palace, so I don’t think there will be any issues on that front.”

Mateta has become crucial at Crystal Palace

There was once a time when Mateta looked destined to bow out with a whimper at Crystal Palace, but then everything seemed to click for the Frenchman. Those struggles are now, of course, long behind him and almost absurd to consider a possibility, such is his importance to Oliver Glasner’s side.

Crystal Palace's Jean-PhilippeMatetacelebrates after the match

From Selhurst Park struggles, Crystal Palace could now become the victim of Mateta’s success as interest in his signature grows and his current contract continues to tick down.

The likes of Nottingham Forest have already been tipped for a summer move, but Palace must simply keep hold of their star man. With 10 goals to his name and counting this season, Mateta has picked up where he left off in the previous campaign to cement his place as the man in the spotlight in South London.

Bye-bye Gnonto: Leeds targeting "sensational" star who’s perfect for James

Leeds United have yet to make any new signings during the January transfer window to aid Daniel Farke’s attempts to secure promotion from the Championship at the second attempt.

However, outgoings have already taken place, with the likes of Charlie Crew and Joe Gelhardt both leaving in loan moves for regular game time, joining Doncaster Rovers and Hull City respectively.

Wilfred Gnonto is another player who could join the pair out the door at Elland Road before the end of the month, with the Italian constantly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks.

It would be a huge loss selling a player who’s registered nine goal contributions in 2024/25, but money talks, which could see the hierarchy be tempted to cash in should a big offer fall their way.

Such a departure would leave a huge hole in the Whites’ attack, potentially seeing the German pursue a move for a player who’s recently popped up on their radar.

Leeds target January move for Championship star

According to Football Insider, Leeds are plotting a move for Cardiff City winger Ollie Tanner before the transfer deadline in just a couple of weeks time.

However, the Whites are not alone in their pursuit of the 22-year-old, with Burnley, Leicester City, and Southampton all also in the race for the youngster’s signature.

The report claims that his current side are reluctant to lose the winger, with the aforementioned quartet all lining up offers to land the attacker this month.

Tanner has starred for a struggling Bluebirds outfit in recent months, scoring twice and registering two assists – in what has been a real break-out year for the former Bromley talent.

It’s unclear how much any deal would set Farke and the club back this window, but it would allow the star to form an exciting partnership on either flank with one player currently plying his trade in Yorkshire.

Why Tanner would star alongside James for Leeds

Winger Dan James cost the Whites a whopping £30m during their days in the Premier League, a figure that was seen to be slightly on the pricey side at the time.

He struggled to make an immediate impact at Elland Road, but has recaptured his excellent form over the last 18 months, subsequently playing a huge role in their promotion ambitions.

The Welsh international has registered 32 combined goals and assists across all competitions since the start of last season – often being the shining light in Farke’s side in recent months.

His frightening pace and direct nature are a nightmare for any Championship defender who tries to get in his way, with potential new addition Tanner also possessing a similar skill set.

When delving into the Cardiff winger’s stats from the ongoing campaign, it’s clear why the club are pursuing a move for the 22-year-old, having the tools to provide the difference in their title charge over the coming months.

Tanner, who’s previously been dubbed “sensational” by presenter Jason Mohammad, has managed to complete 1.6 dribbles per 90 at a completion rate of 52%, highlighting his direct nature with the ball at his feet.

The Cardiff star has also registered 3.5 touches in the opposition box per 90, producing 2.3 shots – having the attacking quality to produce the goods in the final third, offering an added threat to Farke’s side.

Such quality may cost the club a pretty penny this window, but it’s evident that he has the potential to allow the supporters to forget about Gnonto should he depart this month.

However, given the interest from elsewhere, the hierarchy will have to act quickly to avoid missing out on the talent, allowing him to star on the opposite wing to current star man James.

22 y/o Liverpool ace who does "everything" also out for "weeks" with Trent

da jogodeouro: A Liverpool player who “can do everything” is now reportedly expected to be out injured for a sustained period, joining Trent Alexander-Arnold on the sidelines.

Latest Liverpool news

da heads bet: The Reds couldn’t be asking for a better season currently, with Arne Slot enjoying a stunning first year in charge that is threatening to become legendary in the coming months. On Thursday evening, Liverpool reached the final of the EFL Cup, beating Tottenham 4-0 at Anfield, keeping their hopes of an unprecedented quadruple alive, unlikely though it may be.

On the injury front, the Reds have enjoyed better fortunes this season, having been ravaged by fitness issues in Jurgen Klopp’s final year in charge, with Trent Alexander-Arnold the major absentee currently. He is currently battling a thigh problem picked up in the 2-0 victory away to Bournemouth last weekend.

Liverpool’s vice-captain is hoping to be fit for the crucial trip to Everton in the Premier League next Wednesday, as the leaders look to pull nine points clear of Arsenal in the table. Now, a new injury update regarding another player has emerged, though.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Plymouth Argyle in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend, Slot confirmed that Tyler Morton is out injured for at least “four weeks” with a shoulder injury: “Tyler is out with an injury for a while, so that means he was maybe our sixth midfielder and James is taking that position now. Am I allowed to say? It’s his shoulder. Four weeks or longer.”

While the £12,000-a-week Morton may not be a vital player for Liverpool in league action, not having him available is still a blow given the Reds’ busy schedule in so many competitions.

For starters, the 22-year-old would likely have started at Plymouth this weekend, with Slot likely to ring the changes and give youngsters and fringe players an opportunity to shine.

Morton was linked with loan moves away from Liverpool in the January transfer window, but ended up remaining at Anfield, and it’s easy to see why their was so much interest, with Liam Rosenior once lauding him during a temporary stint at Hull City.

“Some of his play, honestly. He can do everything as a midfield player. When we were recruiting in the summer, he fits completely into the way we want to play.”

Morton will hopefully be back for the business end of the season, during which time he may be called upon, in what could be the final few months of his Liverpool career.

The Englishman must surely be considering a permanent move away from the Reds at the end of the campaign, in order to be a regular elsewhere, in a move that may well suit all parties.
